What is Green Building?

" Green Building " is currently the hottest term in the building industry, but what exactly does it mean? " The practice of creating more healthy and resource-efficient building, renovation, operation, maintenance and demolition models " is defined by the Environmental Protection Agency. Experts say that green building is not only environmentally friendly, it also has the additional advantages of being healthier and also very cost-effective. The term 'sustainable development' is also used for green building meaning our use of the environment's resources without jeopardizing its use for the future generations.

Green building at the commercial and industrial level can include anything from water-free urinals to electricity generation, but how do we as residential building contractors and homeowners follow the green building path. What can be installed and how much can it save? Who defines green anyway? These are the questions that we must provide answers to, to spread awareness about it.

This new concept has helped to address one of the greatest threats facing modern humanity. The growing population consumes more and more resources, which will soon run out, if some checks and balances are not maintained. Only so much recycling and waste management can be achieved. Greater steps must be taken and one such step will be the elimination of waste production during the building process. Green building is a powerful solution to our problems but it is not yet fully utilized.

Slowly but surely, the green revolution nests in the building industry, as in all other areas of modern life. Today, the world's awareness of global warming and the common knowledge of environmental issues has made it compulsory for everyone to make an effort at their own level. Maybe the easiest way to fulfill this responsibility is to adapt green building habits in our homes. We don't have to go out and fight a war against the big bad bullies of the oil industry; we can do the same efficiently by starting green building in our own homes. More than ever, the old saying " charity begins at home" proves to be right, although today, if not implemented, this saying has more serious consequences.

Apart from personal responsibility, as awareness spreads green building, more and more rules and regulations are implemented to monitor the protection of the environment. The world of the future will be entirely self- sustaining if the green building objectives are implemented in their true sense. To be precise, the technology already exists, it is only a question of implementing it, which will not only benefit the environment but also help you economically and your health.
